Crystal Palace Offer New Deal To Nigerian Wonderkid To Ward Off Interest From Chelsea, Liverpool
Published: November 03, 2017English Premier League club Crystal Palace have offered a professional contract to talented Nigerian winger Joseph Hungbo, who is being monitored closely by the English Football Association with a view to call-up to the Young Lions.
The Eagles offered the teenager his first professional contract in their bid to ward off interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, who had expressed interest in his signature.
Hungbo joined Crystal Palace at the age of nine and rose through the ranks before debuting for the U18s and has also appeared for the club's reserve team, U23s.
''Joseph Hungbo has been offered a professional contract by Crystal Palace, he has agreed to sign the new deal, '' a Crystal Palace insider told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''He has been watched by England both last season and this but I'd be surprised if he gets a call up anytime soon.
''He's playing as a 10 but he's far better as a winger.''
Joseph Hungbo has tallied four goals in the Under-18 League 2 (South) in the current campaign.
