Manchester United Challenge Barcelona For The Signature Of PSG Star

Manchester United are interested in snapping up Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti this summer but face competition from Barcelona, according to reports.

Spanish media outlet Sport claims that the central midfielder is set to hire a new agent Mino Raiola, who brokered the deals that took Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba to Old Trafford.

That said, Barcelona are front-runners to sign Verratti and are prepared to offer Ivan Rakitic plus cash to PSG in order to prize him away from the Ligue 1 club.

The Italy national-teamer is valued in the region of 100 million euros by PSG.

A product of the youth team of Pescara, Verratti has been on the books of the French club for the past five years.
