Chelsea Boss Praises Moses, Team For Fighting Spirit Against Southampton
Published: April 26, 2017Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was delighted with his side’s performance against Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday night, in which Super Eagle Victor Moses was in action for 86 minutes.
A brace from Diego Costa and additional tallies from Eden Hazard and Gary Cahill saw The Blues overcome the Saints 4-2 and establish a seven-point gap over nearest challengers Tottenham Hotspur.
“For us now it is important to fight and win the title. Today it wasn’t easy. They are a strong team, have rested for ten days,” Conte said in his post-match press conference.
“They didn’t have pressure and you can enjoy this game when you play a team at the top. It wasn’t easy.
“I was pleased with the fantastic effort from my players. They showed great fight and will to win and now we must rest.”
Moses recorded his 30th appearance in the Premier League this season against Southampton. The 26-year-old has not been involved in only three matches - against Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Manchester City.
