Official : Son Of Former Nigeria International Selected By Atlanta United In MLS SuperDraft
Published: January 18, 2017Atlanta United selected American-born midfielder of Nigerian descent Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu as the second pick in round three of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday.
Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu, 22, joins the Major League Soccer newcomers from Harvard University.
He recorded 64 appearances, including 61 starts, scoring 4 goals (6 assists) while defending the colours of Harvard University and was captain of the team during his junior year.
His father represented the youth team of Nigeria while his grandfather played for the senior national team of the African powerhouse.
Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu is a native of Massachusetts.
