Liverpool Reject Newcastle Approach For Pacy Winger Sheyi Ojo
Published: January 18, 2017Liverpool have turned down a request by Championship promotion hopefuls Newcastle United to sign England youth-teamer of Nigerian ancestry Sheyi Ojo.
The Liverpool Echo has reported that the Magpies wanted to sign the winger on loan for the remainder of this season, but the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has not sanctioned the deal.
Having previously spent time on loan at Wigan Athletic and Wolverhampton Wanderers, it would have been Ojo’s third loan spell away from Anfield if the move was rubber stamped by Liverpool higher-ups.
Because of an injury he picked up during pre-season, the former MK Dons starlet had to wait until January 8 before playing his first competitive match for the senior team this season.
Sheyi Ojo is under contract with Liverpool until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
