Obi Mikel Makes Important Announcement About Future With Tianjin Teda
Published: January 14, 2017Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel plans to end his career at Chinese Super League club Tianjin Teda if the club do not part company with him.
Having penned a three-year deal, the former Chelsea star has vowed to see out his contract, and will be about 33 years old when the agreement expires at the end of the 2019 season.
“Of course, I want to stay in a team for a long time, I left Chelsea after eleven years, I hope to stay in TEDA for a long time, not one or two seasons, ” Mikel was quoted as saying by Netease Sports.
“If the club will not let me go, I hope to stay until the end of my career, TEDA will be my last stop.”
Mikel has started training with Tianjin Teda in Malaga, and was involved in the club’s last friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach II.
