Arsenal Unlikely To Recall Kelechi Nwakali From Loan Spell At MVV
Published: January 12, 2017Arsenal will not recall Nigeria U20 skipper Kelechi Nwakali from his loan spell at Dutch club MVV Maastricht before the close of the January transfer window, according to CEO ASJ Academy, Emeka Amajiriaku.
Nwakali, 18, has impressed in his first season as a professional, making 11 appearances in the Jupiler League and has started seven of the last eight games contested by the promotion-chasing team.
“Kelechi Nwakali was given the option to return to Arsenal in January, but he wants to remain at MVV because he wants to help them gain promotion to the Eredivisie, ” Amajiriaku told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“When he came to Nigeria for the Christmas break, he was very happy and had very nice things to say about MVV. ”
The central midfielder joined MVV on a season-long loan last summer after failing to secure a UK work permit.
