Tevez To Earn Four Times The Wages Of Highest Paid Nigerian Footballer
Published: December 29, 2016Carlos Tevez’s move from Boca Juniors to Chinese Super League side Shanghai Greenland Shenhua is now in the bag, writes the club on its official website.
The Argentina international will reportedly pocket £32 million per season (equivalent of US$39.27 million) at Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.
Tevez will make approximately four times more than his new strike partner, Obafemi Martins, who is the highest paid Nigerian professional footballer ahead of Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel.
Martins extended his contract with Shanghai Greenland Shenhua at the end of the 2016 season, and the new deal will see him pocket US$9 million next year.
Not far behind in the list of highest paid Nigerian players is Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, who earns 56,000 pounds every week at the Etihad outfit.
