Renowned Manchester United Scout Opens Up On How He Scouted Ndidi
Published: December 23, 2016Highly-respected scout Roland Janssen, who now works for Manchester United, has opened up on how Wilfred Ndidi was acquired by Racing Genk in January 2015.
During his scouting mission to Nigeria in September 2013, Janssen admitted that Ndidi was the most outstanding player on the pitch, even though he was playing against footballers far older than him.
“If African players know that scouts are sitting in the stands, then they go to the limit and prove themselves. I had that feeling with Ndidi, ” said Janssen to Het Laatste Nieuws.
“He made an impression, calm on the ball, precise in the application, and a beautiful long ball.
“Very solid for a 17 boy who took on boys five to ten years older. ”
Ndidi, 20, has agreed a five-year contract with Leicester City with effect from January 2017 when the transfer window opens for business.
