Ex-Belgium Manager Wilmots Wants N600 Million Yearly Wages From Algeria
Published: October 22, 2016The Algerian Football Federation continue to thrash out terms with Marc Wilmots about becoming the manager of the Desert Foxes but the Belgian’s wage demands threaten to provide a stumbling block.
Reports in the Algerian media claim that the former Bordeaux and Standard Liege attacking midfielder wants to be paid €1.2 million every year (approximately N600 million in Nigerian currency) before accepting the proposal from the Algerian FA.
Le Buteur says Marc Wilmots pocketed 65,000 euros every month while he was managing the Belgium national team and the FA President is surprised that he wants to double his wages.
But the Belgian is in high demand, with the likes of Schalke 04 and VFL Wolfsburg also interested in appointing him as coach.
If the Federation fail to agree terms with Wilmot, their Plan B is to name Rolland Courbis as coach.
