Barcelona, Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester United Scouts Run Rule Over Nigerian Midfielder Mikel
Published: August 22, 2016Scouts representing top European clubs were at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica to watch the Primeira Liga clash between Benfica and Vitória Setúbal on Sunday night.
English Premier League clubs Arsenal, Manchester United, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur posted scouts to track some of the most outstanding players in the ranks of Benfica and Vitória Setúbal .
Defensive midfielder Mikel Agu put in a ninety-minute shift for Vitória Setúbal and was impressive during the game, with Raul Jimenez converting a spot kick in the 82nd minute to salvage a point for the defending champions.
The 23-year-old was also watched by Barcelona, Sevilla and Atlético Madrid scouts yesterday.
Mikel is spending the whole of this season at Vitória Setúbal on loan from Porto. He was included in Nigeria’s provisional roster for the 2016 Olympic Games.
