Siasia To Make Changes To The Starting XI Against Denmark
Published: June 03, 2016Ahead of the Nigeria U23s second game at the ongoing Suwon Invitational
Tournament in South Korea, manager Samson Siasia has revealed that he
will make changes in the starting XI as he wants to give all the players
the opportunity to prove their mettle.
In their opening game against the hosts on Thursday, Nigeria lost 1-0 after conceding a late goal .
“As part of our plan to give every player equal opportunity to stake a claim for a shirt going to the Rio Olympic Games, we will be giving all the players we brought to Korea a chance to play and be assessed on their own merit, so that none of them will complain of not getting enough time,” Siasia told thenff.com.
“In our game against Denmark on Saturday, we will definitely make changes in our starting eleven.
“This is one opportunity that we can’t let slip off our fingers as the NFF has given us a platform to play against three top teams going to the Olympics, so we must take full advantage of it and hopefully we will get the best legs to represent us in Rio.”
The Dream Team will be playing Denmark at the 41,000 –capacity Goyang Sports Complex at 18.00 hours local time on Saturday, which is 10am in Nigeria.
