Yakubu Pens One-Year Contract With Woking
Published: May 19, 2016Woking have announced that Nigerian defender Ismail Yakubu has put pen to paper on a fresh one-year contract with the club.
In the just concluded season, the 31-year-old managed only six appearances in the Vanarama National League after rupturing his anterior cruciate against Boreham Wood in August 2015.
But a decision was taken by management to offer him a new deal based on his terrific form at the start of the season, with Woking losing only one of the games he started.
Born in Kano, Ismail Yakubu started off his career at Barnet before spells with AFC Wimbledon, Newport County, Cambridge United and Woking .
He has won six caps for the England C team.
