Ex-Arsenal Striker Olufela Olomola Signs Professional Contract With Southampton
Published: May 17, 2016Southampton have informed via their official webpage that the versatile Nigerian striker Olufela Olomola has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Born in London, the 18-year-old was on the books of Arsenal before joining the Saints in the summer of 2014.
Olufela Olomola was one of the four youth-teamers that penned professional contracts with Southampton, with Alfie Jones, Richard Bakary and Ollie Cook also agreeing terms.
He began the season with the Southampton U18s before he was promoted to the U21s and played a minimum of a dozen games in the U21 Premier League.
Following injuries to first-team strikers Charlie Austin and Shane Long, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman named Olomola in his 18-man squad for the Premier League tie with Sunderland in March.
