Fikayo Tomori Stars As Chelsea Qualify For FA Youth Cup Quarterfinals
Published: February 10, 2016Chelsea U18s have booked a place in the quarterfinals of the FA Youth Cup for the seventh season in a row on the heels of their 4-1 thrashing of Wimbledon on Tuesday at Kingsmeadow.
Despite dominating the first-half, the Londoners went into the interval with a one-goal lead, courtesy of Fikayo Tomori who fired past Wingate for his second goal of the season in the 15th minute.
Egan equalized for the Dons in the 35th minute and in the second half Maddox and Ali were on target for Chelsea as they clinched a comprehensive victory.
England youth-teamer and Blues striker Ike Ugbo was in action for 66 minutes before he was substituted, while defender Tomori worked a 90-minute shift in defense.
The Chelsea U18s will host Reading in the last eight of the competition at Stamford Bridge.
