Boyd Okwuonu And Fatai Alashe Called Up By The United States For Toulon Tournament
Published: May 25, 2015United States Under 23 National Team coach Andi Herzog has included two players of Nigerian descent in a 19 - man squad list for the upcoming Toulon Tournament.
Real Salt Lake defender Boyd Okwuonu and San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Fatai Alashe will sport the colours of the USA during the tournament in France which begins on Wednesday and ends June 7.
Aged 22, Okwuonu was named to USA U17s roster to the Fifa Under 17 World Cup staged by Nigeria in 2009, starring in a group game against Malawi in Kano.
He has international caps for the Under 18, Under 20 and Under 23 sides of the United States.
Fatai Alashe has been impressive for San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS so far this season, with 9 starts for the club out of a possible 12.
He scored on his international debut for the USA U23s against Bosnia and Herzegovina U-23 squad in March.
