He stays: Tosin will remain at Chelsea after close of January transfer window amid links to Brighton
Published: January 17, 2025
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that London-born Nigerian central defender Tosin Adarabioyo is satisfied with life at Chelsea and has no plans whatsoever to jump ship in the January transfer window.
The Manchester City academy graduate arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2024 after turning down a new contract that would have made him one of Fulham's highest-paid players.
It has been suggested that Brighton & Hove are interested in signing Tosin, seven months after Chelsea snapped him up as a free agent.
The report added that the Seagulls are looking to convince the 27-year-old to join them permanently, a move that could see Chelsea recoup their small investment almost instantly.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that there are no ongoing negotiations for Tosin to join Brighton & Hove or any other club before the close of the winter window.
Tosin is seen as one of the leaders in the Chelsea dressing room and and serves as a mentor to young players like Josh Acheampong, Tyrique George and Shumaira Mheuka.
The 27-year-old's performances have been notable, helping the Blues in recording seven clean sheets across eighteen appearances so far this season.
Tosin has also made an impact offensively, needing just one more goal to set a new personal record for goals in a single season since beginning his professional career.
The Nigeria Football Federation target has a contract with Chelsea until the end of the 2027-2028 season.
