Ikechukwu Uche Says He Now Has Peace Of Mind After Ending Goal Drought
Published: December 02, 2014 Ikechukwu Uche was pleased at ending his mini - goal drought in Villarreal’s win over Cordoba, and has urged his teammates not to put their foot off the pedal in subsequent games.
“A striker always wants to score, so the goal has given me peace, but I’m not obsessed about scoring. The important thing is to help the team and work towards achieving the victory.
“Next up is a home match against Real (Sociedad ) and we know it will be difficult, but we have our confidence back and that makes us play better.
“We are a good team and really want to get back out on the pitch,” Uche was quoted as saying by the online edition of AS.
The Nigeria international, who scored in the 70th minute on Sunday, has hailed the fighting spirit of the Yellow Submarine.
“The team never gives up. The good thing about us is that we always work hard and fight, even when things are not going well,” he added.
Ikechukwu Uche is reportedly negotiating a new contract with the Europa League campaigners, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2015.
