Tesho Akindele Named Revelation Of The MLS
Published: November 26, 2014FC Dallas forward Tesho Akindele has been named Major League Soccer’s 2014 Rookie of the Year by the league organizers.
To scoop the award, the 22 - year - old saw off competition from Harry Shipp (Chicago Fire), Steve Birnbaum (DC United) and Chis Duvall of the New Yord Red Bulls in that order.
“It’s honestly one of the best days of my life. It’s such an honor and I couldn’t be happier,” said Akindele to the official website of FC Dallas.
The highlight of his season was netting a hat - trick in the 5 - 0 defeat of San Jose Earthquakes in August.
Eligible to represent Nigeria as well as Canada, Tesho Akindele has committed his international future to the United States.
