Exposed : Sabo Babayaro Steals 500,000 Euros From Sale Of Efe Ambrose, And Forces Celtic Defender To Lie
Published: November 19, 2014Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that former Chairman of Kaduna United, Honourable Sabo Babayaro, is guilty of misappropriating funds belonging to the demoted Premier League club.
It would be recalled that Sabo Babayaro was ousted as chairman of Kaduna United in February after spending ten years at the helm of the club.
Transfer fees paid by foreign clubs for Nigeria international Efe Ambrose were pocketed by Sabo Babayaro instead of remitting the funds to the bank account of Kaduna United.
It is confirmed that Babayaro instructed Israeli club MS Ashdod to wire at least €50,000 to a personal account instead of the domiciliary account of Kaduna United per best practices.
When Efe Ambrose was sold to MS Ashdod, Kaduna United inserted a 20 percent sell on clause.
But the club did not get a single euro after Celtic bought him for a fee in the region of 1.8 million euros, as the money was stolen by Sabo Babayaro.
Disgraced former media officer of Kaduna United, Mohammed Suleiman told allnigeriasoccer.com : “ It is true that Ashdod transferred the money to the personal account of Babayaro. I am surprised Muyiwa Lawal leaked that classified information and he got the right account detail.
“Sabo Babayaro instructed me to interview Efe Ambrose on Liberty FM and he was forced to deny that Ashdod did not send any money to Kaduna United. He had to do that because Kaduna people kept asking about the missing transfer fee.”
Sabo Babayaro must be made to account for the missing funds of approximately 500,000 euros including accrued interest.
Allnigeriasoccer.com would like to thank Nigerian transfer newsman Muyiwa Lawal for contributing to this investigation.
