Equatorial Guinea To Host 2015 Afcon, As CAF Snub Nigeria
Published: November 14, 2014The hosts for the 2015 African Cup of Nations has been determined by CAF, who were forced to change the venue after Morocco pulled out citing Ebola concerns.
After a meeting of CAF President Issa Hayatou and the President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the governing body of African football has awarded hosting rights to the Central African country.
The tournament will be held from 17 January to 8 February while the draw will take place on December 3 in Malabo.
Qatar, Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan and Gabon had been in the running to host the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
Together with Gabon, Equatorial Guinea co-hosted the tournament two years ago.
