Gloria Ofoegbu : Pepe Encouraged Me To Take The Free Kick

opening her goalscoring account at the ongoing Africa Women’s
Championship.
The former Falconets skipper enhanced her reputation as one of the dead-ball specialists in the Falcons squad after scoring in the first half as nailed on favourites Nigeria beat Namibia 2 - 0 on Friday to book their place in the semi - finals.
“I feel so blessed by God and honoured to score for my country. Really, I was so happy because it was my first game,” says Gloria Ofoegbu to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“The captain wanted me to take the free - kick , so she told me to take it because it was from my position and the post was open too.
“She and Pepe encouraged me to take which I did and had the goal. I am confident we can win the semi - final.”
Nigeria and fellow West Africans Ivory Coast have progressed to the last four of the competition.
