Okon Pleased With Angels Performance
Published: February 03, 2014Edwin Okon was pleased with Rivers Angels performance, in the 3-1 win against Confluence Queens on Monday.
The current Fed Cup Queens defeated Confluence Queens to show their readiness for the NWFL Champion of Champions clash with Nasarawa Amazons.
The Coach was happy with his team’s intensity.
“We played well. It was a high intensity match and we hardly let them have any chances,” he said.
“We did especially well in the second half. It could have been different because we scored first and dominated the match afterwards.
“Confluence Queens scored a fantastic goal, but overall we are going away satisfied with how we played.
“It was a good match overall, especially the second half. In the first they pressed well, it was more difficult for us in possession and we had to play more on the counter.
“The second half was different. They didn’t press with as much intensity and we had more possession.”
With Nasarawa Amazons on the radar of the dark skinned coach, he only praised Obi Ogbala’s wards and prayed for victory on Thursday.
“We have a lot of respect for Nasarawa, but our objective is to win a double.”
