Official : Karabukspor And Akpala Go Their Separate Ways
Published: January 18, 2014Karabükspor has claimed that the club has mutually agreed to part company with Nigeria international Joseph Akpala, less than five months after he joined the Turkish Super League side on loan from Werder Bremen .
Akpala suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon against Sivasspor late December, an ailment which is expected to keep him on the sidelines for up to six months.
Before that unfortunate incident, the 27 - year - old forward was not doing badly in the championship, having netted 4 goals in 11 appearances.
The former Club Brugge hero is now expected to return to Werder Bremen though the Bundesliga outfit recently stated that they plan to sell him in the summer.
Joseph Akpala still has a contract with the Germans until June 30 , 2016.
