Sidney Sam Will Not Extend Bayer Leverkusen Contract
Published: January 06, 2014Germany international Sidney Sam has cast doubt over his future after he rejected the new contract proposed by Bayer Leverkusen.
The offensive player, who has contractual obligations with Bayer Leverkusen until June 2015, has a buy-out clause of around 2.45 million euros according to unofficial sources.
“We made him an offer that was unfortunately below his expectations.
“We told him that we have a certain limit and don't want to go any higher.
“We have to accept it when he can earn more at another club. He deserves that following his fine performances,” general manager Michael Reschke told Express.
It is assumed Bundesliga rivals Schalke 04 are now runaway favorites for the signature of Sidney Sam.
