Published: December 17, 2013A British coach, Fennessey Harty Thomas has advised the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to closely monitor the progress of the victorious Golden Eaglets that won the just concluded FIFA Under-17 World Cup hosted by United Arab Emirates.
He said the Federation should keep a close watch on every member of the team because, keeping them together, they are world beaters.
The observations were made by Fennessey Harty Thomas on his arrival at Muritala Mohammed Airport in a chat with newsmen on Tuesday night, saying the football world has a very high regards for the Nigerian youngster owing to their track-records in FIFA organized aged competitions.
The former Chelsea FC of England Youth Coach, however, expressed his eagerness to work with Nigerian youths as he would be resuming work immediately with the Ibadan based soccer school, Frenage International Soccer Academy whom he claimed have abundant soccer talents.Keep these Eaglets Together,British Coach Urges NFF
“Nigerian Under-17 squad has earned respect of the football world, especially their exploits at the last FIFA World Cup has proved this better, Nigerian FA should keep a close watch on the boys and look into how to integrate some of them into the senior teams.
“Nigeria is greatly endowed with good soccer players, I think what they required are good counsel and FA supports, which if well apply to boys, in the nearest future they, would be a force to be reckon with in world football”, Fennessey noted.
