Published: December 16, 2013Golden Ball winner at the last Fifa Under 17 World Cup, Kelechi Iheanacho has reportedly departed the Eagles camp in Abuja to finalize a move to Manchester City.
It is assumed that the Citizens beat the likes of Udinese, PAOK, Monaco, Chelsea, Arsenal and Porto in the race for the signature of the highly rated starlet who displayed his wares in the United Arab Emirates last month.
“I got a call from his father who told me that they have gotten traveling visa to the United Kingdom and that I should oblige him with his son’s release.
“I did and told the young man to go and do the nation proud at whichever club he finally chooses to settle down with,” National Team coach Stephen Keshi was quoted as saying by Kick off.
The 17 - year - old does not have enough caps to qualify for a British work permit .
But Man City hope to bypass that rule on the grounds that he is an exceptional talent.
