Bosnia Icon, Hasan Salihamidzic : We Will Survive Group F
Published: December 10, 2013In an interview with the official website of Fifa, retired Bosnia international midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic says his country can qualify for the knock out rounds of the World Cup.
He believes that other teams in Group F - Argentina, Nigeria and Iran - will find it difficult beating the World Cup debutant, who narrowly failed to qualify for the 2010 edition of the tournament.
“We have really good players, headed up by Edin Dzeko, Zvjezdan Misimovic, Miralem Pjanic, Emir Spahic and Ibisevic.
“They all play for good, big clubs. And the lads get along together well, which is very important.
“We only lost once in qualifying, and it was an unlucky home defeat. If we can keep it up, we could survive the group.
“But it’s our first go at the World Cup and you usually need past experience, said SalihamidžiÄ to Fifa.com.
Regarded as one of the top players ever to don the national team colors, Hasan Salihamidži played 44 times for the Dragons before he retired in 2012.
