Romanian Ministry Of Sports To Fast-track Citizenship For Kehinde Fatai
Published: November 12, 2013According to authoritative website, prosport.ro, Club Brugge attacker Kehinde Fatai is likely to receive honorary citizenship of Romania in the coming months.
The laws in Romania are very strict as regards granting citizenship . It stipulates that a foreigner must have lived continuously in the country for about eight year before a passport is issued.
But Kehinde Fatai’s documents have been submitted to the Ministry of Youth Sports and the establishment wants to fast-track the process.
Per Article 7 of Fifa rules, the former Flying Eagles striker is already eligible to represent Romania, having spent more than five years in the country.
In addition, he has not donned the colors of the Super Eagles at senior level.
Kehinde Fatai has scored 34 goals in 93 appearances for Astra Giurgiu.
