Swiss Court Orders FC Zurich To Pay Widow Of Lucky Isibor 255,000 Euros
Published: November 11, 2013The Court of Appeal in Switzerland has ruled in favor of deceased Nigeria international Lucky Isibor, who last defended the colors of FC Zurich before he hung up his boots.
In 2002, then aged 25, the contract of the ex Concord striker was unilaterally terminated after he tested positive for HIV during a routine medical.
Earlier in 2011 , a Zurich City Court had mandated FC Zurich to pay the one - time Dream Team player 412,000 Swiss Francs, a penalty for unfair dismissal, but that decision was contested.
Now, the Appeal Court in the latest ruling has ordered FC Zurich to pay the widow of Isibor 255,000 euros ( equivalent of 54 million Naira) as compensation.
Lucky isibor, who was part of the original Dream Team but failed to make the squad to Atlanta 1996, passed away in June 2013.
Before his death, he admitted that FC Zurich destroyed his career.
