Emmanuel Emenike: I Never Said I Want To Be Bigger Than Yekini
Published: October 18, 2013Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike has rubbished quotes attributed to him by a website sponsored by a telecommunications outfit.
In the phantom interview, the Fenerbahce attacker was quoted to have said that he wanted his name to be bigger than deceased Super Eagles legend Rashidi Yekini, the record goalscorer for the National Team.
“ I never said I want to be bigger than Yekini. Please I am just doing my thing, doing my best for Nigeria,”says Emenike.
This is not the first time the former Spartak Moscow ace has denied he did not grant an interview to a Nigerian publication.
Last November, he allegedly accused his teammates of being jealous and that they do not give him adequate passes.
But Emenike later called the report fiction and went on to say he did not speak to any Nigerian journalist.
