Academy Lauds Oyo Government Over Principal Cup Revival
Published: October 10, 2013
An Ibadan based soccer school, FRENAGE Soccer Academy has described the renewal of the prestigious secondary schools’ soccer tourney tagged ‘Principal Cup’ by the present administration in Oyo State as a commendable gesture and good omen for the development of the game.
The popular football tournament among secondary schools in the nation that had been in the doldrums for while in the state has been approved by the state’s ministry of Education to play again starting from next year.
While reacting to the news that elicited joy and excitements by secondary schools’ students in Oyo State, the CEO of the soccer academy Prince Oluwole Ololade said his soccer school is eager to see the tournament where genuine talents can be found back in the state.
He however, expressed the will of its academy in partnering with the education ministry to fish out budding talents that would also benefit from football scholarship scheme runs by the international standard soccer school.
While applauding the effort of the firm, TKO Sports who helped the ministry in resuscitating school tourney, the FRENAGE boss gave Senator Abiola Ajimobi’s led government in the state a path in the back for his tremendous achievement within a short while in sports’ sector.
“It as never been this good in history of sport in Oyo State, kudos must be given to the present administration in this state, and that is why we are willing to contribute our quota by partnering the state in fishing out talented footballers with the aid of our expatriates who would soon be coming to country.
“We gave scholarships to Oyo State players that distinguished themselves during the last Academicals soccer competition hosted and won by Oyo State, and that is what we are going to do when the Principal Cup gets underway”, Ololade noted.
The commencement of the renewed Oyo Principal Cup according to the Education Ministry has been scheduled for early next year in consideration of compliances with the school academic calendar and giving the pupils enough time for preparation.
