Gil Vicente Starlet Simoen Nwankwo Tips Eagles To Beat Ethiopia
Published: October 08, 2013Nigeria’s newest strike sensation in Portuguese Primeira Liga, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo who plies his trade for Gil Vicente has expressed optimism that Super Eagles have enough quality in their arsenal to beat Walia Antelopes of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa on Sunday.
Nigeria will play Ethiopia for the first time since January 29 when they beat Ethiopia 2-0 at the 2013 African Cup of Nations final Group C match at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in South Africa.
“We’ll be honest enough to say we are the favorites because we are African champions and that makes it more difficult because other teams play Nigeria with extra motivation but I believe we have what it takes to beat Ethiopia and go through.
“We just need to continue in the path that made us champions, which is respect for the opponents and belief in our quality, ” Simeon Nwankwo said.
21 - year - old Nwankwo, who made his name with Portimonense S.C, hopes to be invited to any of the National Teams in future.
