Derick Ogbu Bags Hat-trick As CFR Cluj Thrash Otelul Galati
Published: October 08, 2013Romanian Liga 1 team CFR Cluj thrashed Otelul Galati 7 - 2 in the tenth round of matches in the championship on Monday evening.
The scoreline tied the record for number of goals scored in a single match in the top division, according to the official website of the FRF.
Nigerian attacker Derick Chuka Ogbu bagged a hat - trick for Cluj, netting in the 24th, 48th and 63rd minute of the encounter held at Constantin R�dulescu Stadium.
“Happy for the second career hat - trick, but most importantly the team deserves the credit,” said Derick Ogbu.
Coincidentally, Ogbu’s first professional hat - trick was on October 6 against Sporting Charleroi while defending the colors of former club OH Leuven.
Super Eagles midfielder Obiora Nwankwo was also a part of Liga 1 history on Monday.
He was introduced by manager Petre Grigora� in the 57th minute..
