Finally, Super Eagles Arrive Brazil On Sunday Morning
Published: June 16, 2013Finally, after the bonus row that threatened to mar Nigeria's participation at the Fifa Confederations Cup, the Super Eagles squad arrived Belo Horizonte Tancredo Neves International Airport around 1.40 am, the online edition of TV Globo, globoesporte.globo.com is reporting.
The flight to the capital of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais took the team approximately 13 hours, discounting airport waiting times.
Two hours were spent flying from Windhoek to Johannesburg, then another ten from Johannesburg to Sao Paulo.
Approximately one hour was used to transit between Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte.
It was around 3:00 am on Sunday morning that the delegation could check into their hotel rooms.
It is believed that the Nigeria Federation has placed a gag order on the Super Eagles as none of the players agreed to talk about the bonus incident on arrival in Brazil.
When Kenneth Omeruo was questioned by the media, he refused to give details on the protest which delayed the team's arrival by two days.
Led by manager Stephen Keshi, the squad will have their first training session later this afternoon.
