Fifa Ranking: Nigeria In The 31st Position
Published: June 06, 2013On Thursday morning, Football's governing body, Fifa released its monthly ranking of national teams. The Super Eagles are now ranked in the 31st position.
Note that Wednesday's 1-0 defeat of Kenya was not used in the permutations. And as a result, compared to last month's ranking, Nigeria, who are the 4th best team in Africa, dropped three places.
World Cup qualifying group opponents Malawi, Namibia and Kenya are ranked 109th, 120th and 123rd respectively .
In the continental ranking, the Flames are ranked 31st, Brave Warriors are placed 34th while the Harambee Stars are placed 35th.
European and World champions Spain continue to top the ranking followed by Germany, Argentina and Croatia.
Fifa Confederations Cup foes Uruguay are in 19th position while Tahiti occupy the 138th place.
