Javier Hernandez, Giovanni Dos Santos To Face Eagles In Houston
Published: May 20, 2013Mexico coach José Manuel de la Torre on Monday unveiled his squad for the upcoming friendly against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on May 31 at Reliant Stadium.
The North Americans are using the friendly against the African champions to fine-tune strategies ahead of the resumption of World Cup qualifiers, where they battle Jamaica, Panama and Costa Rica, as well as the Fifa Confederations Cup .
There is no place in the squad for Real Sociedad.striker Carlos Vela despite earlier reports suggesting that he could return to El Tricolor for the friendly against Nigeria.
Nevertheless, Jose Manuel de la Torre has selected a strong squad, including the likes of Manchester United's Javier Hernandez, Mallorca's Giovanni dos Santos and Espanyol's Hector Moreno.
An analysis revealed that three goalkeepers, six defenders, nine midfielders and five strikers made the squad.
The Europe based players will fly directly to Houston, venue of the friendly while the local players are expected to arrive camp on Thursday, May 23.
