National Team Invitation Excites Almeria Flop John Ogu
Published: May 20, 2013Ex Almeria, Spain midfielder, John Ogu, says his invitation to the Super Eagles is a rear privilege which he would not allow to slip off.
He praised the Stephen Keshi-led technical crew of the Super Eagles for inviting him to fight for place in the team.
''There are over 2,000 Nigerians playing professional football in many parts of the world, therefore getting an invitation into the team shows that I’m among the privileged few,'' says Ogu to thenationonlineng.net.
John Ogu, whose invitation for the last World Cup qualifying fixture against Kenya raised eyebrows, started only 11 matches in the Primeira Liga this past season.
Before his move to the Portuguese championship, Ogu was on the books of Almeria. There, he failed to play an official game as a result of injuries.
