Rilwan Hassan Understands Frustrations Of OB Odense Goalie
Published: May 08, 2013Monday's match between OB and FC Midtjylland ended with a dramatic situation.
Hassan failed to get the ball but anyway played it when it was in OB-keeper Jesper Christiansen's hands.
It was answered with a blow in the neck on the winger, prompting yellow to Christiansen after heated discussions and uproar.
In his post match comments Hassan was surprised at the battle, but bears no grudge.
'' I hit his glove a bit and turned around to go. Suddenly he hit me in the neck, and my first thought was, 'Why does he do it?'.
''It was not a normal way to react. I was very surprised, but when I saw he was coming, I decided to let him be.
''My teammates got me away from the situation, and that ended it for me, ''' says Hassan to bold.dk and continues:
''He probably should have had a red card but the referee gave him only yellow. Why I do not know, but it's okay for me.
'' I understand that the goalkeeper was frustrated to lose, and I think that's why he hit me. How is it sometimes.
''But must of course not beat others when you are frustrated, but it can happen in the heat of battle. ''
Hassan is most willing to completely forget about Monday's incident with Christiansen.
''I'm not mad at him, it is a situation that can cause problems going forward. My teammates have said to me that he should have been a red card, but I'm a little indifferent to it.
''After the match I was just so happy that we have now reached the 40 points, which we have struggled. It means a lot to me. I do not think about what else happened in the game. It's not important now, '' says the winger.
FCM are mathematically safe from relegation after the 1-0 victory in Odense.
