Golden Eaglet Kelechi Iheanacho Dedicates Quartet Of Goals To Late Mom
Published: April 21, 2013Golden Eaglets striker Kelechi Iheanacho has dedicated his quartet of goals at the ongoing CAF Under 17 championship to his late mother.
On Saturday, Iheanacho bagged a hat - trick as the Golden Eaglets defeated their Congolese counterparts 7- 0 to qualify for October's Fifa Under 17 World Cup billed to be staged in UAE.
Local newspaper Thisday quoted Kelechi Iheanacho as saying: ''I remember my mother today and I wished she is alive to witness this; may God grant her good rest.
''Of course, I’m very happy that we have qualified for the World Cup because that was the most important thing for us.''
Kelechi Iheanacho is two goals behind strike partner Issac Success in the race for the tournament's golden boot.
Nigeria will play Tunisia in the city of Marrakech in the second semi - final on Wednesday, April 24.
