John Chibuike: I Was Frustrated Sitting On The Bench
Published: April 16, 2013
Rosenborg midfielder John Chibuike refused to warm up in Friday's match with Solomon Owello's IK Start.
John Chibuike was a big hit when he signed the dotted lines with Rosenborg in 2011, notching five goals in his first three games.
But he has been battling with a hamstring injury since last year which has slowed his progress.
'' I warmed up several times during the match, and I hope to play more than a few minutes.
''I was frustrated by sitting on the bench, so coach told me to warm up just a few minutes of the match left I answered friendly no,'' John Chibuike told VG.no.
The former Enugu Rangers star has been queried by coach Per Joar Hansen for gross insubordination.
Manchester City's Carlos Tevez made the back-pages when he refused to play against Bayern Munich in a Champions League tie back in 2011.
