Keshi Invites 30 Players For Summer Games
Published: April 04, 2013Nigeria gaffer Stephen Keshi has unveiled a list of 30 players to prosecute the Super Eagles summer fixtures.
The National Team play Mexico in a high profile exhibition game at the end of May in the United States, then lock horns with Kenya (June 5th) and Namibia (June 12th) in the World Cup qualifiers.
The African champions will be representing the continent in the Fifa Confederations Cup billed to be staged in Brazil from June 15 - 30.
Once again, Keshi, who was recently involved in a war of words with skipper Joseph Yobo, has omitted the Fenerbahçe central defender from the roster released to the media on Thursday afternoon.
Otherwise, there are no major surprises in the squad announced by Stephen Keshi. Cologne's Anthony Ujah has been rewarded for his fine form in the 2 Bundesliga with his first call up to the National Team.
Making a return to the Super Eagles after more than a year in the international wilderness is in-form Kasimpasa forward Kalu Uche.
Stephen Keshi has also done a good PR job by inviting African Cup of Nations top scorer Emmanuel Emenike despite his recent outbursts in the media.
The 12 domestic players that made the roster as well as the technical staff will travel to Nuremberg, Germany on May 15 for a training camp.
