David Alaba Scores Ninth Fastest Champions League Goal
Published: April 02, 2013Bayern Munich's David Alaba, who has Nigerian blood flowing in his veins, scored after 26 seconds in the Champions League quarter - final first leg clash against Juventus played on Tuesday evening.
Alaba's goal ,which is in ninth position, is amongst the top ten fastest goals scored in Europe's elite club competition.
Former Dutch international Roy Makaay is credited with the quickest goal scored in the Champions League.
Makaay netted after 10.12 seconds for Bayern Munich in the 2 - 1 victory over Real Madrid on March 7, 2007.
20 - year - old David Alaba has scored in each of his last three games for club and country.
The wing back was on target in Austria's 6 - 0 defeat of Faroe Islands and netted against Republic of Ireland four days later.
Including tonight's match at the Allianz-Arena, the Austria international has made 7 appearances in the Champions League.
