Adeleye, Afolabi To Terminate Contracts With Kuban
Published: March 28, 2013
Two Nigerian players - Dele Adeleye and Abdulwaheed Afolabi - are on the verge of terminating their contracts with Russian Premier League club Kuban Krasnodar, informs footballtransfer.com.ua with reference to Russian media.
While Dele Adeleye is under contract with Kuban for the next three years, his compatriot and Olympic National Team striker Abdulwaheed Afolabi signed a four - year contract with the Krasnodar based outfit last summer.
Both players penned first team contracts with Kuban but have been sent to the youth team, which violates the agreements they have with the club. Consequently, they want to unilaterally terminate their contracts and become free agents.
On top of that, Kuban will have to pay the players their wages for the duration of their contracts. The club will be reported to Fifa and the Russian Football Union for breach of contract.
Beijing Olympic silver medalist Dele Adeleye has not played an official game for Kuban.
On the other hand, Afolabi has suited up two times in the championship but was banished to the reserve team earlier this month for repeatedly coming late to training.
