OB Odense React To Sunday Mba Rumour
Published: February 15, 2013A wild rumor has emerged last night. A Nigerian journalist from the BBC reported that OB Odense are interested in the Nigerian midfielder Sunday Mba, who scored the match winning goal against Burkina Faso on Sunday.
''The Danish team Odense would like to get Nigeria's Sunday Mba. He scored the winning goal for the Super Eagles against Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso, '' writes BBC journalist Oluwashina Okeleji on his Twitter profile.
OB Odense head coach Troels Bech did not respond to the rumors, but he pointed out that the transfer window is closed, so the club can not get the players who are under contract elsewhere.
''Transfer window in Denmark is closed, so except you are unemployed football player, you can not change clubs. That in itself makes the scenario a little bit difficult, '' says Troels Bech to bold.dk.
''When we sign a contract with someone, we report it out as quickly and accurately as possible. But until then we will not be thrown into discussions about individual players.
''We do not comment on either the rumors, single players or for that matter individuals in other clubs. It is not to be boring, but there are many years of experience in that it pays, '' adds Bech.
24-year-old Sunday Mba plays every day at Warri Wolves in the Nigeria Premier League. He scored two goals during the African Cup of Nations which Nigeria Sunday won 1-0 over Burkina Faso.
