'When you put that shirt on' - Former Fulham man Tosin loving life at Chelsea
Published: January 09, 2025
Former Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo has opened up about his pride and determination since joining Chelsea, describing the move as a dream come true.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, the center-back shared his thoughts on life at Stamford Bridge and the challenges of competing for a place in one of England’s most prestigious football clubs.
"When you put that shirt on and see the Chelsea badge, it’s an absolutely amazing feeling," Tosin said.
"You know how big and prestigious this club is, and how many legends have been here in the past."
The 27-year-old, who joined Chelsea during the summer transfer window, highlighted how quickly he has adapted to his new environment.
"It definitely feels like home now. It’s been quite seamless settling in, knowing the manager and a few of the boys. It’s been great."
Adarabioyo acknowledged the fierce competition for places in Chelsea’s star-studded squad, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and improvement.
"When you join a top club like Chelsea, there are top players in every position, so you have to fight every single day in training and be patient and bide your time, like I have done so far."
He continued, "Competition for places elevates your own game to a new level, that’s what it’s all about. It’s why we have so many good players in every position to push us on."
Despite the intense rivalry for starting spots, Tosin praised the unity within the Chelsea camp, describing a strong team spirit.
"We are one group here; we all support each other no matter if you’re on the bench or in the starting XI."
Adarabioyo’s move to Chelsea marked a significant step in his career after several impressive seasons with Fulham.
