Skye, GTB Clash In Oyo Bankers Cup Final
Published: February 05, 2013Skye Bank football team, the Skye Warriors will slug it out with their counterparts from Guaranty Trust Bank in the final of the ongoing Oyo State Bankers’ Invitational Soccer Tourney 2012 slated for this Sunday at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The Skye Warriors, who won the last edition defeated FCMB by 3-0 in the semi final match while Team GTB confirmed their supremacy over hard fighting United Bank of Africa (UBA) in an action packed semi-final cracker 5-4 through penalty shootout after a 1-1 score-line at regulation time.
Ayodele Abina, General Manager Southwest of Skye Bank in chat with newsmen in Ibadan said his boys are battle-ready to lift the cup back to back, saying the management has provided for all their logistical needs to make that happen.
“The game is a good avenue for members of banking institution to recreate, relax, interacts and make friends, so I cannot but to commend the organizers over the good concept. Skye boys are smoking and ready to do it again. The bank has put all necessary logistic in place for this to happen”, Abina noted.
Among dignitaries expected to grace the final is Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi who declared the event open, a member of the House Representative, Hon. Saheed Fijabi who donated the giant trophy for the first prize and top members of the participating banks.
