Nasarawa United Disappoint Peruvians
Published: February 03, 2013In front of 20,000 spectators at the Estadio Monumental on Saturday, Nigeria Premier League new-boys Nasarawa United fell 0-2 to Peru powerhouse Club Universitario de Deportes.
In his post match comments, Club Universitario de Deportes gaffer Angel Comizzo voiced his displeasure with the poor performance of the Nigerian club.
''Nobody knows the hardships they have gone through to get here from Nigeria. I know that the journey has been exhausting, but it's still a shame because in the second half the match faded much,'' Comizzo told depor.pe.
On his part, former top scorer in the Peruvian championship Miguel Ximénez was unhappy with the physical approach of Nasarawa United as the referee had to stop the game on several occasions due to injuries.
Miguel Ximénez said: ''It's sad that people have not seen a game that was more competitive.''
Nasarawa United have another exhibition match against CNI (Iquitos) on Sunday, February 10.
