UGO UKAH Issues Apology After Red Card
Published: November 28, 2012Jagiellonia Biaystok defender and Nigeria international Ugo Ukah has commented on his sending off by referee
Marciniak in last weekend's Polish League tie with lsk Wrocaw.
28 - year - old Ukah had been booked as early as the 14th minute. Seven minutes after the restart, he was then dismissed for a second bookable offense.
''Our midfielder lost a dangerous ball, and the opponent found a very good through pass. I was already booked from the first half, so I tried to stop the striker, who was going for glory. My attempt didn't go as I thought and I hit the ball and his leg.
''It looked a bit harsh and when I looked at the referee, I saw the yellow card in his hand and I started walking towards the changing room,'' says Ukah to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Despite the dismissal of the former Queens Park Rangers central defender, Jagiellonia Biaystok did not throw in the towel. It was a stunning comeback by Tomasz Hajto's charges, as they leveled the match from three goals down.
'' I was delighted that my team had a great come back and drew a game that was practically lost 3-0 to 3-3. After the match, I apologized to the coach and my teammates. I also want to say sorry to the supporters of Jagiellonia Biaystok,'' adds Ukah.
Jagiellonia BiaÅystok, unbeaten in five matches, welcome GKS BeÅchatów to the Miejski Stadium on Friday.
