AFCON 2013: NFF Brace Up For Late Eagles Show
Published: November 04, 2012Acting General-Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Musa Ahmadu has stated that the Glass House is fully aware that the bulk of players that would prosecute the 2013 Africa Nations Cup could be released late by their various clubs.
Ahmadu however believes since the situation will not be peculiar to Nigeria, the technical crew should be able to handle it well and make the best use of the opportunity they have.
''We are fully aware of the rule which says clubs are not obliged to release players earlier than 14 days to a major tournament. However,it’s not peculiar to Nigeria, for me, two weeks intensive training is enough for us to do well in South Africa,'' Barr. Ahmadu opined.
Already Nigeria are in Group C of the Nations Cup alongside defending champions, Zambia, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso.
